My dad and I spent the afternoon at East Fork yesterday. Mainly experimenting with the lake as I've only been there once since the fish kill.

We did ok. Not great. Caught 27 crappie. We fished the mid section of the lake in our usual places and went to the upper end and fished as well. Water temps were high 50s and almost 60 at the upper end. However, lake was heavily stained/lightly muddy. Sunny, and much windier than I expected.

So, not ideal fishing conditions. We did catch a number of dinks but also at least 7 fish that were 10-10.5". They were almost all caught in 8-12 foot of water, usually down 4-6 feet. I think the spawn is still a couple weeks away.

Still - was somewhat encouraging to me that we were able to catch some decent size fish out of the lake. I'm convinced it will still be a good fishing lake - and backup for me when the river is too high

I should add those were surface temps and water was muddy. I think it's going to cool off with these temps this weekend.

I was out for a few hours yesterday too. I had a similar day and had a half a dozen or so over 10". I agree it was windier than I expected.
My day got cut short when I looked down and seen my gas gauge sitting on "E"....oops!

I went and fished on the rocks at the dam (I didn't feel like dragging the boat out) this past week. I caught fish, but they were all small. I would agree that they're probably a couple weeks out still.
