Yep...closer to 2.5 hrs with 2 people....it is very easy to do if you understand the lake.
Lake is cooling, lake level is dropping...this triggers fish to gorge to build up fat reserves for Winter. The Shad had another tremendous spawn and the fry are from 1.5 to 3 inches...everything in the lake is targeting these easy and plentiful sushi.
When the water starts dropping the shallows are not safe for the shad, the deep water has become oxygenated again, so they head to deep water...that is their only safe area, where they can move and flee...predator fish follow them under the schools, and try to move them to the surface or drive them close to shore when it is time to feed. When the sun is high shad can see well, under lower light conditions Walleye, Crappie, and Bass have another advantage. It is all a big game, that you learn to play and understand.
When you fish a lake for almost 40 years, work with the Cover Projects, and learn the patterns, it is easy to do!

CJ is just a few miles off I70, NE of Springfield (just outside City Limits)
It has a Full Campground setup, primitive and Camper, with electric, showers, etc. They also have REAL NICE cabins with AC and Heat! 1 huge Main Public beach, 1 for campers by campgrounds. Full Marina, UNLIMITED HP, handicap fishing, free parking, picnic areas...Extra Large Main Boat Ramp with parking, 1 lane boat ramp in Marina. Overlook area, hiking trails, wildlife areas, ODNR office, Watercraft office, COE office. Shelter houses by Overlook and other areas with grills. They have a full Frisbee Golf area, and plenty of open space to fly drones, etc. The dam has a 3/4 mile roadway on top for walking, bike riding, exercising, etc, it is connected to even larger fitness trails.

You can fish the entire 2200 acre lake if you have a boat of want to walk and be adventurous. The Marina is the easiest bank fishing but is heavily pressured.
It has a major creek coming in and going out and several other smaller ones, and plenty of Springs. North End is 5 foot or less, with a few deeper holes. Middle lake is 10-20ft, and the Southern third is deeper with 45 foot holes
The Level of CJ never drops during droughts, like other lakes, due to the Springs. They take it down 3 feet (1900 acres) only for Winter Pool.
CJ is well known for Walleye, SMALL perch (Walleyes take the Big ones), White Crappie, Smallmouth, Largemouth, and White Bass, Most Sunfish Species, and Channel Cats and a few Shovelheads! SHAD is the main forage, with huge populations, but the Natural Baitfish population has been expanded.
