The Sylvan is all covered up right now but I figure to break her out about March this year. Let me know if you want to go on a boat ride (with fishing equipment.)

    See you out there

Congratulations,Hope to see you on the water as I retired almost 5yrs ago and still don't fish as mush as I would like to.
May all the fish tales you catch be longer than the ones you tell !

CJ is one of the few lakes that doesn't get muddy very often....and it also settles faster than any other lake around....it takes MASSIVE amounts of flood water to stir it up, but even then the mud flows through all the old creek channels, so even if it does get muddy, you can find areas that are still clear....use Chartreuse also, cause the fish still bite!

What feeds CJ? I'm assuming it's not a major creek if it doesn't mud up.
I think muddy water is a kick in the teeth to crappie especially if it cold muddy water. However I think the effects are pretty short lived and crappie seem to acclimate to the condition pretty quickly. I like dark colors in muddy/murky water.
