    Default Crappies at Salt Fork

Stayed there about 10 years ago seemed like a nice place. Was thinking of trying to get a cabin on the water, taking my boat and trying some crappie fishing or whatever would be best fishing. If I took a pre trip to check it out are there any guides I could book a trip with to learn the lake a little??

It's really not that big; got both white and black crappie, and some big ones--but there are also alot of dinks. Depends on time of year. I like fall best.

Caught pretty good in there in June/July..Just fishing from the bank caught tons but as stated above mostly dinks, few legal fish but still a good time and got a nice stringer every now and then plus bonus cats.. Blue/White or Black/Chartreuse plastic jig w/ a crappie nibble popped under a cork parallel to the rocks.. There's be times I'd catch 5/6 fish in a row. Tried live bait and the plastic jigs caught better
