Ive read guy fish Crappie there, you would think there are plenty, although I've never fished that lake, I prefer Acton for Crappie
Does anyone ever target crappie at Rush Run? I know it is mainly fish for trout when stocked. I have been there a few times only finding gills, albeit rather large ones. I have seen some decent bass pulled out as well.

Rush Run or "Lake Barney" has some nice crappie if you fish from a boat. Great BG fishing and some monster Largemouth if you can get them out of the trees. I have fished there since the late 70's mostly from the bank. For me it a quick trip. Boating is a bit of a challenge TM only so would be a great lake for yakers.
Spring time crappie can be caught at the mouth of the fingers feeding the main lake. They go back out in June and must be caught from a boat.
Of course acton has so many baby crappie that you gotta catch a couple hundred to get a dozen keepers. So if you want to catch fish and release, acton can be a blast.
Good luck!
Baby Crappie thats funny, but I agree the ratio of keepers to throw backs at Acton seems like its gotten worse the past couple years, although today (8/24/14' at 85 degrees was the exception, I tryed a different section of the lake and half where keepers, plus a 24" channel cat on my 4 1/2' dock shooting pole with 4# mono was a bonus and the high light of the Day.
I will have to try Rush Run for Bass although Ive been warned about getting hung up on all the wood, maybe it will be worth it?
Yeah, there wasn't any watercraft out when I have been there. Might take my canoe out.
We have fished Rush Run quite a bit over the years. I agree that paddling is about the best. We got into the trees better with our first boat and our canoe than with the Tracker we have now. The lake has gotten cloudier over the past three or four years since it's no longer buffered by a beagle club and gets lot of farm runoff, so at least you don't have to be quite as sneaky as you used to. Our best bass have been with wacky rigs. The regulars keep chunking spinners at the bass and losing them in the timber. We've only caught the occasional crappie, although they are big if you find them. Gills are right in the timber, so jig straight down for them. There are some good channels as well.

Dang Buffy I bought a Tracker last Fall, should of tryed the lake with old blue last year, but if I can get some help I will still give it a try
My other (better?) half stands up and watches for stick-ups and submerged stumps while he uses the trolling motor. We chuckle any time we see some knuckle-head fire up their gas motor there. If you take your time and work as many stick-ups as you can, you will catch fish.
