Crappie on East Fork Lake
With the algae bloom in full swing, anyone fishing for crappie lately, how is the fishing?

Caught 14 keepers today there. All about 12 to 14 deep in 17 to 20 fow using crappie rigs. Also caught 1 hybrid about 21 inches throwing a spinner.

Is there still an advisory on the lake for swimming or keeping fish? What is the algae like now?
Might head up there Friday for crappie.

The areas of the lake I have been fishing I haven't noticed any difference in the water quality. People are still swimming, skiing, etc. I haven't noticed if the advisory signs are still up or not. The fishing has been decent, the numbers are up by the size still lacks. You'll get your share of 9-11'' fish, but won't see many bigger than that. I might try to get out Friday also, I'm trying to convince my daughter to go with me.

yea i dont think it was bad as last year really. but the signs were still up last week. i thought the water looked good. like efslabs said there are still people swimming and boating in it.

Went out this morning for a little while and it was pretty slow fishing. Not many boats out fishing either.

It was slow for us too. Caught 15 crappie, had 5 good keepers. Algae is still on mainlake around dam ramp area. Back in the creeks not too bad. Water tems were 77.

I was out Sunday morning too. I ran into EFslabs playing with his new ride and toys. He stopped and joined me for an hour or or so. We had a decent bite going for awhile and we had a few nice fish but when that action slowed we parted and moved on. I never did find much going on the rest of the morning.

Tons of fish, 1 to 5 ratio on keepers, best was a 13 white.
