    Default Ef 12/28

Went out today knowing that it would be tough since they have been pulling the lake hard for several days. The water was very stained and I didn't even try the lower end of the lake. Fished for a couple hours and only caught two or three fish. Has anybody else been out fishing since we got the heavy rains last week?

I was out today with EFslabs. We didn't get out til late and only used jigs. To say it was a tough bite is an understatement. I doubt minnows would have helped much.

Went to EF today too... We caught 7 crappie in 5 hours of hard fishing. I used mostly a double-minnow rig, two poles at a time. I didn't think the water quality would be as bad as it was... I noticed the water temp was almost 4 degrees warmer than when I went 8 days ago - close to 46 - but that didn't help. Oh well.

just curious? Did any of you try shallow? I haven't been out in a while. I know that normally when there pulling the lake crazy it makes them back off the banks but ive also seen that lake really dirty and put them right up on the banks??? I told dave it was prolly gonna be a terrible day, sunny, high pressure, lake having the guts sucked out of it....... So, anyone try shallow?

I didn't, we only had about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to fish. We tried 3 different spots on the lower end of the lake.
Before going to the lake I did set up a rod with jig & cork and had thought about trying shallow but the line was messed up and we just ran out of time.

I was dreaming about fishing. It was a very nice Dec. day yesterday.

Seems like we probably did catch most of our fish in 5-8 feet of water but we hit all kinds of water. I've got to where I like to troll over drop-offs and over deep brush since it seems like I catch them more consistently. In all the usual spots, I could see the crappie stacked on the fish finder but they just weren't interested. I didn't see anyone do real good, shallow or otherwise. mbk

I was out with a couple of buddies yesterday, fished from 8 - 3. 1st time I made it back since BCC tournament. Covered most of the lake, it took most of the day to find the bigger school of fish. Ended up catching around 100, but only 7 over 9.5" with 3 of them in 11" range. Our fish were 4'-12' deep.

    Good luck,
    Doug
