Hey all I have been land locked for about 5 weeks doing work around the house with this awesome weather can't believe there's no reports on ef . Anybody catching any slabs? And how we doing it, taking the old man out Wednesday looking for just a little direction since I couldn't stay ontop of them for the past few weeks. Any reports?

Just like you I've been stuck working on the house. The wet weather we've had has make it tough to get outside and do much of anything.
Hunting season is approaching soon and my goal is to be done before that.
This weather has been great. I just need to free up some time.

I made it out a few times last week with mixed results. The fish are very hit or miss. 90% of my spots have no fish on them, but the few that do are loaded with fish. You still have the normal problem at EF with having to weed through hundreds of 7-8'' fish to find some keepers. Fortunately most days I was able to put together a pattern and bring home some nice fish, but it was far from easy fishing. I caught fish from 6-25FOW by trolling, vertical jigging, swimming jigs, tightlining, etc.

I live on the east side of Cincy and I've been kind of looking at houses closer to EF. I'm in no rush (next year or 2 is okay) to move but if momma finds something she really wants it could be soon. All this rain this summer has made it tough to work outside.
Hunting season is just around the corner and I'm not going to miss it.

I went to EFL last Friday, fished from 5-8pm. Caught around 70 only had 6 keepers. Lots of small fish. Caught fish on jigs and float/minnows on laydowns. Had a blast. Water temps were 83. Dingy color.

Like everyone else has been saying......caught lots & lots of short fish and a keeper here and there, fished last Saturday and Tournament Sunday and its hard to find a good pattern, fished mainly 6-8 ft. deep in 10-15' of water. But it do's seem to be improving compared to a month ago.

Think this coming weekend gonna try it at night see if its any better.

You better bring plenty of minnows...I went through 12doz in 4 hrs last week. No problem catching 3-4 fish on the same dead minnow. Unfortunately, the dinks really turn on at night. I had close to 200 fish by 2am (by myself with one pole) and only 3 or 4 barely over 9''. It was fun, but disappointing to see so many little fish. I remember back 5-10 years ago it was nothing to get 20-30 10-13'' fish at night. With the new size limits it seems the runts have taken over the lake.

You might be right.....the size limit could have something to do with it,since most people now won't take anything under 9" and the runts just keep multipling and the bigger fish are getting fewer kind of like a pond when the gills take over, last sunday we bought the Boars Head 100 minnow deal which was alot more then a hundred and where out of minnows by 1:00 and only had 1 really nice fish and the other 6 if you stretched them they where barely over 9".

I have to say though that I believe that EF has one thing going for it that will keep big fish coming and that is a population of shad that is second to none in this area.

I just got my boat back thank god. They finally figured it out. 2K more bucks but it runs great now so fine with me. I didn't care how much it was, I just wanted it back..... 5 months without a boat and now I get it back and don't even have the desire to go............. funny how that works. I couldn't go a few days without fishing before. Ill get back to it eventually.
