Seems to me like the Ohio DNR needs to pro rate the cost of my fishing license if the lake is unhealthy and essentially unfishable for 3 months out of the year. Bad situation that I don't see getting any better. I sure hope people aren't continuing to swim in that cesspool right now.

This used to happen in the late 80's or early 90's and then cleared up for a bunch of years.
It' really not the DNR's fault, they didn't cause it.

I think the only practical way to deal with this is for everyone to get off of EF lake forever (except for me and who ever is in my boat) Everyone go away.

Kind of agree with you to a point you can have the lower end and I will take the upper end.

I want to go on and ask for a reservation in your boat then... I haven't saw the algae but my buddy was down there last Friday and said it looked terrible. I've been sticking to river fishing for stripers/white bass for the last couple of weeks.

You are welcome anytime. Now I just have to see if the rest of these yahoos while get off of MY lake.

That algae is pretty nasty. Last time I was there the DF showed it from surface down to about 10'

I haven't been to EF since the late seventies and that was for tearing holes in the water in a speed boat, not fishing. I take it this is caused by farm runoff, failing septic systems, etc.? Does anyone else object to tax payers subsidizing farmers and then getting tagged with the cost of clean-up to boot? Maybe fishermen and women need to hire a lobbyist. It's just sad.

that's all well and good until you bankrupt the farmers. No farms no food. It's an unfortunate situation that's no one person's fault. I blame it on over population. There's just too many people pulling off of our natural resources. Farms have to expand along with urban sprawl. fertilizers have to be used to increase yield to feed the ever growing population. There's only so many people this planet will hold and in my opinion we are pushing the limits and our natural resources are paying the price.
