repower as in new power head or just another engine??? My only prob with that is it seems that if an engine is taken off a bot for some reason its prolly one just like mine having problems...... scares the hell out of me to buy a used engine..... i cant afford new..... even when a person can start a motor in a shop that doesnt tell ya jack.... my motor starts perfect every time and runs great IN THE DRIVEWAY!!! Sounds like a lemon on engine.... I would go with a rebuilt and make sure they back it up Sorry about the luck u have experienced with boat...

buy used with a warranty from dealer
lots of 200 hp motors and powerheads around
at 2000 in repair bills would have put you real close
plus you can part yours out

take it to the dry dock on duff rd..they can fix it.christian is a beast mechanic run circles around dixie they r a joke even if u bought a 60000 boat from them..its off 747..might be the computer they found out on mine cost 1600. it would get hot and cut off fuel dixie had it 3 weeks then told me it was clogged fuel lines after not lookin at it..dry dock found problem in 3 hours..good luck

Hey Robin good to hear from you but sorry to hear about the bad luck on the motor.
I was having trouble finding someone to replace a stator a few years ago and Tbone recommended Dry Dock to me. I tried them and after fixing the stator they called me and told me of some other issues they found. Fixed everything and been good ever since.
My buddy Tom took his boat there. He was happy but I don't remember what the did for him.
I know what you mean about used stuff.

Okay guys! That gives me some options! I may call dry dock next week. Gonna give these fellas one more week to figure it out and if they cant im gonna have to drive 10 hours round trip to get it I guess. YUK!!! LOL

Fastfisher, appreciate the heads up on warranty powerhead! Do you know a good place to look? Ive called all the marine places in the area (haven't tried dry dock though) and nobody seems to have anything???

Robin......keep your eyes open in the parking lots at boat ramps........a big club......some assorted wrenches/sockets/ratchets etc.....and a ski mask........ Should be able to get one practically free............
