Well, we made the 90 minute drive from Springfield to EF on monday. This lake is something else compared to CJ Brown. Lots of natural cover and standing timber. I even had pretty pictures of the trees show up on my HB 596DI (never seen things like this at CJ, I was beginning to wonder if it actually worked as advertised). While we didn't hit the motherload, we caught 15 crappie, most of which were 7.5-8.5 inches. The 8.5" one was extremely broad across the shoulders. I did catch 1 12 incher that was a horse and didn't want to come into the boat. This thing was thick all the way down. I should have weighed him. The wife also brought in a nice thick 9.5" crappie. All in all, it was a fun day on the lake and I am definately going to head back down there. Next time I'll drag my camper and spend a long weekend so I can do much more fishing. We met a really nice feller in a black alumacraft at the boat ramp and had a good conversation with him as we were putting in and also seen him when we were pulling out. If that was anybody on here, let me know. It's nice to put a face to names on the board.
