You guys like those Y guards? I've never used 'em, always used bristles. Do the Ys work as well?

Ya know, np sent me some to try out but about the time I got them everythings iced over. They look really nice and im gonna try them out. Something about those clear bristols that I like. May not Mean crap but its personal preference. I would say they would work though because I tried out the ones that have the single black plastic guard and they worked........ The y guard should be just as good if not better i would think..........

NP sent me a few samples of the Y gaurd with my order of some other jigs too. I haven't had a chance to try them yet. A friend of mine used the Y gaurds a few years ago and he liked them.

Well, the ones from bp i bought I had a lot of problems with the bristles falling out.... Even when I was tieing them on. When it comes from the bp jigheads I like the black plastic guard..... If I can get them where the bristles don't fall out thats what Id prefer to use over plastic.

I know I am going to tick some people off, but I am just teasing! I am betting that your #17 Jig is for people who want to NEARLY catch fish?:D

not a big fan of any brush guard for crappie(ask my parter, i can single handedly lead poison a lake), but i have used the y-guards, and they worked fine vert. jiggin dense brush. Also liked them for shootin metal lifts, they pull off of underwater cross beams rather well.
I just prefer nothing between my hook and the fish, just me.
