Thread: thats why they call it hunting

just got in from 1 of the worst days of turkey hunting ive had in a while- first I missd a nice bird @ 7:10 this morning @ 15 yrds. - how do you do that I asked myself- switched to the new Win XR loads this year 3 1/2" 2 oz No 5 @ 1200fps= tested on paper & was awesome- 14 kill pellets average @ 50yrds- 1st bird I shot this year @ 35 yrds like ran over him with a truck!~- went back to truck & set up a target figuring my red dot had got bumped - set target @ 15 yrd same as missed shot- pattern bount the size of a softball- should of checked short range before- no margin of error @ 15 yrd with a pattern bout 4"- no one to blame but me!! so trying to make amends I go hard running & gunning on two different farms - get on a longbeard on both farms & get busted by both being too aggressive - 3 turkeys today - no turkey tenders in the freezer- @!##$%&&%$%#!!!!! live & learn- I think ill go visit my old buddy George for a while (as in Dickle)
