Computer shut off the motor with the bad sending unit. did that out of safety had your oil pump really gone bad. that is a good thing. just as much these days is electrical problems as mechanical part failure. All that electrical crap is for easier diagnosis when hooked to a computer. Won't help the average person. Makes You do just what You did. Take it to a dealer. Stuff too complicated for average man to work on now.

farm machinery is the same way. Mechanic brings a lap top to the field. Combines have big computer screens to monitor all operations and do self diagnosis on break downs so when you call the dealer, they can send the right parts out on the service call. That all works great until the diagnostic stuff fails due to use in heavy dust situations and a high vibration environment. A half a million dollar piece of machinery that is only worth the price of scrap metal without all that technology now. I guess they decided we could not farm without computers and they don't know how we used to do it. AND THEY ALWAYS TELL US THAT IT WAS FARMERS WHO TOLD THEM TO DESIGN THE STUPID CRAP. I always tell them to fire those farmers and talk to us. They need to make stuff more simple, not more complicated. I would pay more for simple.CF

I would assume they reset or cleared all the codes when the dealer had it hooked up to the computer. The owners manual may tell how to find any pending codes, or you can buy one that will tell you the current codes, and look them up on the webz... GL

Ya know that was the first thing I said to my wife, OILVILLE! we are driving the car. light blinks constantly, never got a check engine light. It is electrical, the dealer had it ran it through the test, said it was sending unit. MY GUESS it is a loose connection somewhere, the wire to the sending unit is this micro fine thread thin stuff that disapears into one of those BLACK BOXes that do not come apart. OH the car does not show up on American computors as it is an import that origionally sold in Guam. I am not kidding when I say it came from UFUK Guam. It is written on the back of the car.
