I've never found a jellow jacket nest that wasnt in the ground, but have seen pics of some that were. The ones in the ground are easy...wait until right before dark and gas 'em. I could see where the nests outside the ground could be trouble.

Gas will get them the 99% of the time and is my preferred way of doing the killen because they come out and just about die instantly. If You are having trouble getting to them with the gas and the fumes are for some reason not making them at least leave, then get some of the insecticide that is used to kill fire ants that You use in a drenching solution. Mix in a bucket and then dump down the hole and run like hell. after a while, they will carry that down deep and all will die. I kill more bugs a year than the terminex man.CF
