Anywhere Suffolk and west has turkeys, I live in Southampton and we are loaded but all private land. Thats your problem around here decent hunting but no access for the public.

If ya wanna pay Google Southampton Outfitters Dreweryville VA . If not check out Fort Picket you should have access being Military. Good luck and thanks for your service.

Fort picket is a good spot. Also do not forget about our state forest. Cumberland and Pocahontas are both just outside of Richmond. I did hunt in the George Washington National Forest which has over a million acres. Last place I went was James River Face Wilderness area up the Balcony falls trail. Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for all the advice guys. I really appreciate it. Now I have to spend a little time on google then a lot of time on the road and in the woods!

You don't have to be military to hunt or fish Pickett, but you do have to obtain the proper permits at Bevell's Hardware in downtown Blackstone.
    Fishing since '50!

I would suggest making a few preseason scouting trips to Buckingham State Forest (Holiday State Park near Farmville/Appomatox. Sending you a pm.
