Hug em tight boys and girls.
This afternoon following a very long day at the office, I thought I had been having a tough day, not the case. As I left out of the office I saw the town firetruck go by with the lights going but no siren and really not in a huge hurry. Living about 4 miles out of town I get in the truck and head home. About a mile out of town I saw the medical helicopter coming in for a landing at the high school practice field, normal place for emergency pick up. Firetruck, helicopter, this can't be good! Being in the newspaper business you would think we chase such stories but we don't, very rare we publish anything graphic, just not our style making news out of others hurt.
I turned around and headed for the ballfield and got there well in front of the ambulance figuring there had been a car wreck or something. Pulled up and parked out of the way and got out still not knowing what is going on but have a really bad feeling. About this time a truck comes flying in and good friend jumps out hollaring and screaming where is the ambulance, they should be here.
Without going into a lot of details his 9 year old son had been involved in a very serious 4 wheeler accident. When the ambulance arrived they could not get the boy stable enough to air transport so they headed to the hospital in Grenada with the air medic working on him. At this point I don't know any news but I do know that a good friend and his family are hurting a hurt like I have never experienced right now.
This young man's name is Taylor and if y'all will please take a moment and lift him up in your prayers, for him and his parents.
We take so much for granted, hug the ones you love, none of us know what's next.
