Dock was installed early this spring and was installed to the water level at the time. It was heavily utilized all summer with no complaints. It will be extended this winter as the water drops down. Lots of good suggestions on here, feel free to send some of them to the Corps Facebook pages or websites. Also, there are ample opportunities to volunteer your time around all 4 of the N Miss lakes where some of your ideas and innovations could be heard.

Will additional docking not be installed the same, allowed to float with the conditions, water down or water up.

It was complained about, with mass boats trying to use the ramp in hi volume times it took up a lane and most of the time 2 lanes on the ramp with boats tied to it or people using it from the lake. I do not gripe about the COE much but the word "engineers" is in the name!!! Why was it not put between the 2 ramps??? Would have been a little more work to do but in the long run could have been way more usable, just a thought.

Sardis seems to have a problem with mismanagement of sorts in my opinion. Examples the boat ramp built on the river at Highway 7. State park road, in some areas the huge potholes, washouts and vegetation growing over the road is a hazard to say the least, the dock (other 3 lakes got there's complete the 1st go around). Also, this past winter me and canebreaker volunteered to work the COE habitat day, that started off to be prime example of mismanagement with the announcement coming in way late and then picked on the exact day Grenada had announced there date weeks prior. So the turn out suffered big time due to that fact, only cane an older man from Senatobia I believe and myself showed up. They had a trailer full of stakes most of which were cut in half to make more 3 footers instead of proper 6 foot stakes. We also spoke to a local man who lives close to Holiday Lodge, he was told the week prior to habitat day he could not volunteer to cut the marked trees on Corp property, instead of taking free labor they choose to pay and sub the work out to contractors. All of the rangers we worked with that day were super nice and worked their tales off, for that I commend them.

They don't really need one there anyway or at least shouldn't be the priority in my opinion. That ramp is protected from the wind and waves. Holiday Lodge!!!!!!!!!! Or better yet, build a new ramp at Pine Point!!!!!! Or just add them at all the main ramps. Maybe a little longer.

Looking at the choices they made putting in the docks they were put where there is the most water 12 months out of the year

Placement was dependent on water access throughout the year and $$. Rees, your idea is a good one and was the first choice but the length would have substantially increased the cost. If any of you have worked for a large corporation, you know things aren't always as they seem from the outside and there are tons of hurdles to overcome. This is twofold for most government agencies. A huge attempt has been made in the last 4-5 years to listen to the public on recommendations for the projects. Some are good and we have tried to accomplish, some not so good. Floating docks were one of those requests that were seen on here and mentioned to the ranger force so and an attempt has been made to appease that request. We hope you will find these additions along with the new restroom/shower facilities, cleaning stations, and sewage hookups in the Class A campgrounds (just to name a few) to your liking. And we really appreciate all of the volunteer efforts that are made. It is a huge part of cleanup days, habitat days, and many other special events that wouldn't be possible without the volunteers.
