    Default Wild boars everywhere???

Me and a couple of buddies got a real itch to kill some hogs so I started looking for places in AR, MS and LA. Most of these places are asking an arm and a leg and can't guarantee success, which is understandable, but for the price it should be a guarantee. So I asked them what they thought about a DIY trip, they're game. I hear that MS is loaded down with em and they're everywhere. Now the real question is where in MS is the real hotspot?

Someone posted a while back, farmers would let you rid their farm of boar. I was interested but never heard back.

I wouldn't say MS was full of them, they are pretty thick in certain areas. My step father has a duck club around Holcomb, MS and his farm is full of them. He is fortunate enough to have a friend of his who loves to hunt them. He hunts at night with infrared scopes / cameras and all kinds of high tech devices. He's been trying to get me to go down for awhile now, but I prefer to sleep from midnight to 4am, lol. Used to know some fellas from around Oxford, MS (Hurricane actually) who used to hunt them, they used dogs to bay them and finished them with knives. You will need to find a private land owner who is willing to let you hunt on his property more than likely. Although considered a nuisance I'm not aware of any public land that has an abundance of them, but may check with the MDWFP to be sure.

Just thought about it, bet Malmaison Wildlife Management Area has some, it's public land but not sure on the regulations of hog hunting public land. Here is a link I found for you.

i think there are some pretty strict regulations on what type/caliber of weapon you can use at certain times of the year...

Probably be best to try and hook up with a farmer who is losing $$$$ in crop damage.

I have heard that peach tree farmers just about everywhere have had a lots of problems with wild hogs. May want to contact some of them they may let you hunt just to get rid of them. You may also contact game wardens as they would know where these hogs are a nuisance.

Will, send D10 on Arkansas board a pm. He is a fisheries guy over there and if he can't help you he will get you to someone who can.
