Thread: Wild boars everywhere???

Tallahatchie and Leflore Co in Ms has them in spots really thick. They are moving up and down the Tallahatchie and Coldwater rivers as a conduit. You could take a day to two just riding around asking farmers if they have a problem and if you could hunt. It's getting close to deer season so they may not agree to hunting until deer season is over.

I'd look into hunting the delta national Forrest just north of Vicksburg. It's full of pigs

Divide Section WMA in Tishomingo county Mississippi has a lot of pigs. It's public land that borders both sides of a man made canal. They are on both sides around the holcut area. Just don't laugh at our small deer. Nothing in that area comes close to a Missouri deer. The MDWFP has resorted to trapping to try and control the population. John Bell Williams/Canal Section WMA which is about 20 miles south of Divide Section has pigs too. The John Bell/Canal Section pigs have a much heavier Russian bloodline. John Bell/Canal Section is a swamp river bottom. Divide Section is hill country. This WMA is walk in only. Just some info.

There is one thing to keep in mind is that farmers do not care about a ethical hunt or trophy hunting. They only care about eradication PERIOD!!!!! They want everyone of them killed, no matter the sex or age. I know a farmer that ran off a bunch of hunters because they were letting the small ones go. He told them the deal was you kill EVERY ONE you see. A lot of the reason the hogs have scattered all around the state is hunters. They are trapping them and relocating then to other counties so they can have them to hunt. You don't have to worry about some to hunt in future years because they will be there. You can shoot everyone you see and there will still be more next year. I don't know any farmer that would want to save some for seed. The more you can kill the more likely you will be allowed to hunt there in the future.

ride the delta and ask some farmers, bet you will get more YES come kill them all then you will get NO stay off my land, ask nicely and respectfully. But leave em alone till they get their crops in, they aint got time for you right now
