I'm going to tinker with the idea of beefing up the webbing and base pole I believe on the sports brella. I have one that I can use to experiment on now, I had 0 problems with it last year, like I mentioned this summer has been a little odd with all the rain and wind, not that I'm complaining about the breeze at all Thanks for your responses BB they are appreciated!

I use those Milwaukee cordless fans. They work like a champ.

I bought a good one off - EBAY, holds up in 10/12 mph winds. I will see what the brand is and post for you.

Saw one that was a umbrella for pipeline welders. Looked really well built.

I don't think the new sportsbrellas are as well made as the old ones. My old brellla has a heavy duty thumb screw for adjusting height. It is 5+ years old and still in great shape. I replaced a cheap, box store umbrella with the new sportsbrella . ( I run 2 umbrellas on my boat) it has a cheesy , friction style clamp for height adjustment. Don't see it lasting as well. It would be interesting to find out what umbrella Trypman found, hope he can share that with us.

I gave up Dutchman I bought another Sports Brella, still the best I can find. I did look into those welding umbrellas for pipe welders, they look neat and sturdy, but they awfully proud of them. Anywhere from $130 to $200 but the angle is adjustable on the top half.
