Default In the market for a new pull vehicle ?

Going about my work business up here in Olive Branch I saw a truck for sale. It's a 2000 f250 7.3 psd. Sign says 81k miles. Sign also says asking 14000.00 dollars. I don't know this truck or the owner but for seeing him finish cutting his backyard. Older fella that as you look at his home, diesel pusher rv, and f250, all looks in good order. I would think this vehicle has been well maintained.

Some of you may remember I bought my father in laws 2000 f250 7.3 last may with 92k on it. I have put 10k trouble free and quite economical for a right that size. Typically 17 to 20 mpg with the 6 speed in mine.

I'll say this, the 7.3 is a pulling engine. Cousin has a late 90s model and has over 300k on the original engine. Think he has tweaked the trans, upgraded injectors and oil pump. Wish I could find a good one I could afford low miles

Trying to unload my 6.7's right now. Just towed one one back to Ford today. Daggum exhaust sensor, which kills them completely. Can't go wrong with the 7.3... just my opinion. 6.0 was a disaster for most, some got good ones, very few. 6.7 scorpion is a strong motor with great potential (def / emissions kills it) but they can nickle and dime you to death, then when something major goes wrong it will cost big time. Old diesels like 7.3 are million mile engines... built by international of course. Go figure..

I love mine, these trucks were built to be road haulers.

I had a 7.3 and put over 500k on it with very minor problems. Best and most reliable diesel truck I ever had.

If'n it was 4x4 I'd be interested. Found a 08 locally with def delete and 81k on it for $30k. It was nice rig but can't swing that much $$$!

The 6.4 I had was a beast. Tuned over 500 hp and pushing 1100 ft/lb. it would outrun mustangs, but with racecar performance you get racecar problems. Burned holes in two cylinders. Paid 20k for mine in 2013

Nice truck, I have a 2001 f250, V10, 5 spd, 4x4, 326k and still going. Its the best truck I ever had. Never left me on the side of the road like all those ford diesels.

Up in the frozen north we have trouble with, of all things, the oil pan rusting out on the 7.3. Of course everything rusts out up here. Please pass the salt.
