A good group 24 marine cranking/ trolling should work just fine. Think Academy sells a Exide like that for a pretty good price.

I personally won't run less than a Series 27 for cranking, Series 29 if I have the room.

I just bought 2 Exide marine batteries from Academe............group 31's at 109.99. The reviews seem good, and thought I'll try them. You could use a group 27 or 24, but if you have the room, I would rather the bigger battery. On my Skeeter, I have 4 group 31's that I bought from Oreilly's last year. They were 89.99 I think, and I've used them a few times so far with no problems.

My thoughts also. I use a group 31 because on my skeeter, the starting battery also runs all my electronics and pumps.

I have a Series 31 on my engine, Series 29 for all my electronics and 3 Trojan golf carts for my TM. The OP is running a much smaller load than my 140 Suzuki so he could easily get by with a 27.

Deka marine 27, going on 9 years on cranking battery. Had to replace tm and ff battery 2 years ago it was the same as my cranking battery. Keep thinking I need to replace that cranking battery since 2015 now... lol
