Good deal. Been putting stuff out myself.
Met up at Holiday Lodge at 7:30 this morning. Jimmy (canebreaker) was there with a truck load up bamboo stakes and tops. Waited at the Teckville ramp until 8am only 3 volunteers showed (me and cane plus 1 older gentleman) plus 10-12 rangers. We worked the morning putting the bamboo out plus a good load of stakes we got for the Corp. Ate lunch at Holiday Lodge and went to another location afterwards and set out another 800 stakes and anchored down some trees with the other guys. We got done at 3:30pm this afternoon, next stop Arkabutla. Anyway, attached a few pics from the morning work, didn't take any afternoon photos, too tired

That's sad. Everyone raises cain because the fishing is not better but won't raise a hand to help. Thank you for showing
up and doing what you could. I bet there will be plenty of volunteers to fish come spawn. All folks nowadays want to know
is what you can do for them. Some say thanks, some don't, very few of them mean it. They expect it. Seems like most
have great ideas that other people need to carry out.

Ahh, it's okay.. doing it for the fish, not the fishermen. Got about 1% done today of what actually needs to be done to sustain a quality fishery by what we was told. Little known, some of these Corp guys really care about these fish, seen hard work from them today to prove it. Only wish the public cared as much, but like hotrod their a good many locals who do their own thing on their own time for the lake.. hats off to them. Don't have to participate in the assigned habitat day by the government, but good to do it under your own will and schedule as well.. I've been on the guilty end of this for years, now I realize the fish need us, more so than we need them in all reality..

The guy on the flats did make a little sense about getting rid of the pelicans. They eat 5 to 8 gallons of fish per day.

Anyone got a good pelircan' stew recipe? I usually feed them white bass, but they can devistate, eat 13" crappie like a chip.. Jokers are huge though and fish eating machines... I think they protected though

I've watched those pelicans heard up a school of fish and devour them in about 2 minutes too. Saw this at Enid last fall. I make about 100 beds a year. Every time I go fish I make a few. Then I make time for it in the fall and winter at draw down.
I got to be missing something on this! Sardis habitat day and 3 volunteers??? On Enid habitat day stormcloud reported 136 volunteers and canebreaker reported 182 total head count, I got to be missing something right???
