    Default Teasers, gnats, and such

Just a curious thought. I have noticed that most of these baits are tied on 90° jig hooks versus straight shank Aberdeen style hooks. Do they perform better this way when trolled or is it just coincidence?

I like the straight shank better..like the new Arkies are tied...just a slight offset in the hook eye

Its like fords and chevys.....personal preferance.....they both catch fish....i still use both because i have them. I do think the straight ones hang better.....still waiting on some more input from the fish on this lol.

I prefer the straight shank but not sure the fish care. If fishing with a 90 degree jig hook I twist the hook around so it hangs better. One thing about the Arkies is the amount of material used, I trim them down some.

I tie my own and got away from the jig hook because it seemed to tangle more on the main drop line, plus had a few break right in the bend.

I have both style hooks on my Minner Critters. Can't see any difference at all in the way they catch fish. Color is waaaaay more important. If the color is wrong neither hook will work. If it's right, the live well is full.

What Mr. Bill said....color-presentation, then everything else lumped together as you see fit.
