Default Evinrude e tech 30 hp water pump problems

I have a 2015 evinrude etec 30 hp......have had the motor just a little over 2 years now will be 3 years next august. My water pump got weak last time I took it out and yesterday I backed it off the trailer and cranked it and the no water pumping at all....I didnt let it run long...maybe 10 seconds if that.....I called the dealership that I bought it new from and told him about the water pump and asked about warranty replacement and he told me that water pump wouldnt be covered in warranty.....It supposedly came with a 5 year warranty....has anyone ever had similar issues or dealt with warranty replacement type of work and if so how did it work for you? Just curious about it as this is my first time every with a new motor that came with a warranty.....

Water pump is routine maintenance, get one put in it. Also check to see if the hose is stopped up.

Did you just run a piece of down the back hole and into the motor?

If it is stopped up you need to unstop it but most importantly you need to replace the water pump if its been 2 years, one of the biggest reason boat motor burn up are lack of water and oil plus they are a very cheap part and very easy to install.

Dirt dobbers love to pack them full of spiders. Unstop line and get you a new water pump. I keep a cover pulled down over mine. My dad use to put a piece of black tape over his years ago.

Don't let it setup so long.. Lol. I run mine 12 months a year, if not fishing, I'm using it for hunting. I got mine stopped up in coldwater river couple years ago, had to disassemble lower unit, clean out impeller, pee hole... all due to sand and running the outboard aground in a sandy bottom. I keep welding wire on board now.. even if you can't run it in the water may wanna run it at home with some muffs.. I don't winterize my Yamaha cause I use it year round.. 2008 / 40hp, never a miss yet, just basic maintence every two years or so. Still don't like the manufacturers response you received, a water pump should be in warranty on a slightly used 2 year motor...
