Default Stratos Pro 285 project boat update

Started going over the project boat and only found 2 minor issues, the first was where someone, at sometime , had done some creative grinder work allowing the top cap to separate from the hull at the transom ( Still scratching my head on that one ) and it created a gap right where the engine mounts. To remedy this problem I removed the flimsy aluminum trim piece and replaced it with a piece of 1.5 x 1.5 x 1/8 stainless angle , then used a 3in ratchet strap to crank everything back in place ( it turned out great I think ).Name: 20160420_152220.jpg

The second problem if found was one of the livewell recirculation pumps was completely broken off the live well, so I decided to just replace all of the pumps and hoses that attached to them, I used 800gph livewell pumps ( I hate a slow filling livewell ) and clear vinal hoses, I also went ahead an added a automatic 500gph bilge pump, and am going to replace the original bilge pump ( 500gph ) with a 1200gph bilge pump.

Bet someone tried to fix a wet transom. Looks like you got it going good.

My thought now also, I did get inside and drill a few test holes...no rot or water thank goodness, filled them back in with fiberglass.

I'd like to get an older glass boat. Tired of my aluminum beating me to death when the wind gets up
