    Default Yet another battery question....

I have a 36 volt system. I think one of my three batteries is weak. The other two are ok. Is it wise to replace just the weak one, or should I replace all three? I think they are around 2 years old or so. Thanks.

Abe....your other two batterys will pull the new one down to their level....on multiple battery systems it is always best to replace all three....and they need to all be just alike.....same brand, type, and group size

He's right but you can replace the one, then in a couple weeks another, and another couple weeks another so it's not a bite out of the wallet at one time. Stretch it out to a month if needed. Just not much more than that. May screw up the one new one to

Keep your two good ones and use them for something else.....do not store them sitting on concrete though....put a board under them.

Another question...when testing the battery with a tester under a load, do you have to unhook the connectors from the terminals or can you test them while connected in series (36 v).

You can test while in series, no different than charging while in series.
