Debbie bought one of those new pressure cookers. Like you said, the down side is the extra time it takes to prep it.

Interesting you fellas brought this up. I was looking at this a couple of days ago. It's very pricey, but would be nice putting fresh produce away from the garden:

BallŪ FreshTECH Automatic Home Canning System

    Still not sure, we'll see.

The one I have is pretty much like that except it dosnt have the recipes pre programmed. Everything is automatic. Plug it in put in the amount of water, load it set timer and forget. Just haven't tried it yet to see how it works. Got a couple of different safety's on it for dummies like me. Was around 75.00 when wife and daughter bought it for me.

well, my 40 minute pot roast took about 2 hours since I had to run a bit of water through it before cooking. . Tasty and tender but I overcooked the onions and they while tasting fine were too limp. Carrots and taters were fine after 15 minutes. needs a tad more room. Only had room for 4 pound roast, 8 new potatoes, 4 carrots , a couple of stalks of celery and 3 onions. Came out better than I expected. Now when I can save up enough for a down payment on another roast things will go smoother.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
