Thread: 597 for less than a hundred

i just got off the phone with the attorney generals office and said if optics planet accepted payment which they did then they are obligated to honor the item, if they hadnt taken my money then i wouldnt have a leg to stand on. so i called optics planet back and told them my dispute and they tried to tell me that my payment was never accepted, so i told (PETE) at optics planet that i just called my bank and that my money was taken out from optics planet and that he was lying! he then told me my money was going to be refunded sometime today!! he never had a excuse for the lie. the attorney generals office is sending me a dispute form to fill out asap! i incourage anyone else that had this happen to call the attorney generals office in illinois @312.814.3000

The instant payment from my checking account I made via PayPal has been returned to my PayPal account but for some reason there is now a temporary hold on the funds "while PayPal investigates". Wonder what's up with that?

Probably cause paypal wants their fees for all the money handling that went on. I'm sure paypal had a mess dealing with this. I had one added to the cart and backed out. There was no doubt something was wrong.

Some of you may recieve them. I know a guy who ordered 5 and chose the express shipping. He had a package at his door yesterday with 5 that have down imaging! Talk about a screw up!

He should list the four extra ones on here for about $350 each. He makes a little extra folding money and the buyers get a smoking hot deal!

I know some folks who have gotten in on great deals from Optics Planet. My one and only attempt to buy something from them (about a year ago) mirrored some others in this thread. They sent an email saying the item had been shipped and then sent another email several days later advising that the order had been cancelled. Apparently it is a good "get it while you can" business, but very poor in managing logistics and customer communications.

I filed a consumer complaint with the il. Attorney general today. I ordered one for the special price and they took the price from my credit card account. Nine days later they cancelled the order without explaination and credited my card account. If others have had this experience, please make a formal complaint-together we may make a difference.
