They need to leave it at 12". When they went from 10" to 12" I was upset also but after watching the boats ramp empty every year and watched these 9" fish jump over 12" finally I couldn't be any happier. The 15 limit will keep some from coming to sardis when you can go to the other 3 and keep 20. My biggest question is why 11". That makes no sense whatsoever. If someone knows or knows someone who knows please explain 11". Sardis is a big fish lake now it worked. Next time there is a meeting on these subjects please post it here and let a variety of people go to these meetings. The only reason I see them changing the 11" is because of a bunch of women were complaining on having to throw back a fish 12" and shorter. Now you watch those same women will be on sardis with there limit of 15 and when they have that limit in about 2-3 hours they will still be fishing culling out those 15 for a bigger stringer full. Those culled and threw back will be a waste.

The meetings were posted on this board and several folks from here went. I am OK with the new rules. Only thing that I don't understand is the pole limit....That just dosent make any sense.....What differance does useing three poles per person make? A limit of 15 is a limit of 15 whether you use one pole or 30.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I missed the post. I would have gone. I think the same women complaining about throwing back a 12" fish were the same women complaining about trollers. They got heard seems like. Oh we'll sardis is going to be great these next couple years. Regardless of the new regs.

G, Why does Grenada have a 3 pole limit? A limit of 20 is a limit of 20 whether or not you use one pole or 3 right? Limits are not easy to come by for the one pole guy. He has a good chance 3 months out of the year and the other 9 months he may luck up once or twice. Trolling U can follow the crappie year around and have chances at a limit any month of the year. Like I said I think they are trying to protect a good class of fish in the lake that will push 3 lbs next yr. Im all for it. As many letters as I saw going out just be glad you get to use 3 pole...

My reply is only about releving pressure on all the big 4 not just Sardis.I don't fish alot mabey 10 times a yr. and like everybody else I like catching big fish but I fish for meat.I would'nt mind 20 fish limit,12 inch but only 1 can be 2lb's or better I don't know how many inches that would be.I'm not gonna bash anyone's fishing style but go to single pole only you guy's that troll or gonna get me but your limit is a limit don't get it.Your style of fishing greatly increases your odd's of catching a limit over single pole catching a limit.I have'nt been crappie fishing that long mabey 10yrs but spent alot of time at the lake I have seen the pressure blow up since trolling became poplar down here.Use to be the ramp's at Grenada would be mostly empty even durning the spawn, then thru the summer all you saw were a few people mostly old men single poleing around the standing timber.

I know some guys that single pole all summer and they catch limits pretty often. Donnie (crappielogic) is one of them. I also know some folks that long line troll with one pole in their hand and they are very successful also

I love to jig in the spring and troll the rest of the year. I also use yoyo's and trot lines. I will bass fish and go after catfish. I like doing it all. So for those guys that strictly jig fish and gripe about trollers then they need to change the game. Sink some crappie condos in the deeper water levels and jig it when it's hot and cold they would catch crappie. Or go at night with a light same thing there going to have to change up if that's there passion. Lay off the other fishermen. Limit is a limit no matter how you get it.

I'm not bashing fishing styles,I'm talking about way's to releve fishing pressure.I'm not a gambleing man but I'd be willing to bet if the big 4 went to single pole only you'd see very few boat's out there.I fish to eat that's why I'd be happy with 15 12in. fish a 3lb or 4lb crappie get's eatn not put on the wall. Now if some of you guy's that troll and say a limit is a limit be it by 1 pole or multiply poles try this at your next tourament instead of 6 poles with 2 hook's per line hang 1 pole with 1 hook and see if you catch as many fish as the other fishermen.Let's flip the script it seem's the(local's) we'll call them fuss the most about trolling because we see as being introduced from people from other states and taking advantage of our resources. If let's say this was in Mo. and they had the big 4 trophy lakes instead of Ms. and all these out of staters were flooding your trophy crappie lake's what would be some of yall's thought's on how to lower pressure and protect yall's fishery? These thing's I talking single pole will never happen reguardless of what happens to our fishery to much $$$$ involved with eqipment and tourism.Like I stated not bashing anyone's style of fishing but for the amount of time I get to fish single pole is my cheapest way to catch a few but if anybody would like to interduce me to trolling I'd try it.But like it or not the pressure was not on these lake's until trolling came along and if you have lived around 1 of these lakes your whole life like I have you can't argue that fact and if you don't live close to 1 you don't see it cause you don't remember how low the preassure was 5-10yrs ago before trolling really caught on down here.
