Ill just be happy when they set the limit to 1 fish each for all the COE. Then the playing field will be level.
Regulation change proposed for Sardis Lake
JACKSON - Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Fisheries Bureau announced a proposal to change crappie length and bag limits on Sardis Lake. The proposal consists of lowering the minimum size crappie anglers can keepfrom 12 inches to 10 inches, as well as reducing the bag limit from 20 to 15 fish per angler. In addition, boats with 3 or more anglers will be able to keep 40 crappie per boat versus the current boat limit of 50.
"We are proposing the regulation change to evaluate Sardis Lake's ability to support the quality crappie fishery it is historically known for with a smaller size and bag limit," said MDWFP Fisheries Bureau Director Ron Garavelli. "We will be sampling Sardis throughout 2013 to evaluate the impacts these regulation changes may have on the crappie resource. If negative impacts on the crappie resource are found, we will recommend reinstating the 12-inch minimum in 2014." No changes are proposed on Grenada, Enid, and Arkabutla lakes, with current length and bag limits remaining the same, 12 inches and 20 fish. Aninformational meeting on the proposed regulation will be held January 31, 2013, at the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and Visitor Education Center, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed change may do so in writing to the Executive Director, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, 1505 Eastover Dr., Jackson, MS 39211, no later than February 16, 2013.
Let the discussion begin!

Wannabe...v2.0
A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
I don't see the need to go from 20 to 15 but I do like allowing 10 inch fish to be kept. I would prefer a slot limit being in place with 20 fish, 10 inch limit and 5 over 5 over 15. Just my thoughts...... Btw, what is wrong with the fishery right now that this is a problem or is this just the state trying to be proactive before there is a problem.

I'm not sure what this will help.It will help the people that fish responsible take more fish home. But for some they will try and rape the lake.Catching a limit of 10'' fish is not hard at sardis and some people will not stop until they can't catch anymore.Take what you NEED leave the rest.

They been following feelay . Like everbody else . Lol
CATCH THEM ALL.
this being my first trip there, it sounds like a good idea to me. been reading on here, where a lot of you guys been throwing back, a bunch of 11.5 fish.
if the size limit is dropped it 10' there should be a lot of keeper fish this spring. already have a cabin booked and looking foward to my first trip to Mississippi.
I am all for everyone getting what fish they need. But this proposed change makes no sense.I think i will go to this meeting,to find out what their reasons are.
