That the day has come that a "newbie" is almost afraid to ask a question here. There is a ton of knowledge here from cane pole fishing with a bobber to cranking and everything in between. Talked to a couple of newbies yesterday that had PMed me about the PSTs, both made the same comment, hated to ask a question because of all the "crap" responses. Last spring when I came on here the good folks of Crappie.com helped many in so many ways, to the point that I feel confident that I can go pull cranks pretty much anywhere and catch fish, had never even thought about a crank for catching crappie before last summeer nor had I summer time fished. I contribute that to the folks on this board, that and a large amount of time in the boat pulling and learning.
We have lost some folks that dont post any more for whatever reason but I still talk with them all along and share info. I hope we can get back to helping a new comer, I will continue to try to. I will be asking some more questions myself as I am trying to pick up on the spider rigging this fall and winter.
Anyway, just a few thoughts, got some crap I need to do before going out of town this afternoon. Have a good days guys and gals and hopefully catch a fesh or two before long.

I've noticed the same thing, RG. I'm reluctant to post a comment on this subject, fearing some newbie will read it and think i"It's BS as usual". I don't care to start a squabble, but you've made a good point. If I was a newbie, I'd be intimidated by wise cracks made at an honest request for information about matters related to crappie fishing on the mississippi forum. It's downright rude and inconsiderate. I could make a lot of other negative remarks about it, but i doubt it would make anything better. No class.

I agree for the most part, but, this is the OT board. It was not designed for fishing to be talked about on this forum. In my opinion, it was designed for cars, and bs and food and bs and jobs and bs and football and bs and other stuff than fishin and bs. I try very hard to keep my bs on here and not in the main fishin board. When you try to mix a serious question in with bs, the bs wins. Everything gets turned around and looks like bs and then the thin skinned feller can't interpret the bs from the serious stuff. So as you can see, this post is about 78% bs and 22% serious stuff which is just about the ratio of bs that's in this forum. 95% of the serious stuff is on the main MS page. There are some folks that love to unwind each day and smell a little bs and just come here for a laugh. I know I've been the butt if the jokes before and that's great. If you've been the butt of the jokes before, that's great. That means they takin it easy on me for a while. Could you imagine being WB? I didn't think so. Wilbur said just last night the he didn't want this site to change because of its character. Well guess what, now it's gonna hafta change and Wilbur is gonna be disappointed. All I'm sayin is, if ya want a serious answer, post your question on the serious board.

Well said guys......this site is supposed to be about sharing information and helping others....friendship and fellowship etc. Sure would like to see it get back in focus. One person cannot do it.....its going to take all of us.
