that don't sound too bad
In the past, some folks have asked questions concerning the Holiday Lodge on the north side of Sardis. I talked to the owner last night and get the low-down on the place. It sounds like a good place to stay and have a good time without having to take out a loan.
Ms. Susie (owner) told me they have a restaurant and bait shop with minners. I've heard that the country fried steak and the hamburger steak are their specialties.
They have several different types of rooms that would fit everyone's budget. This is what they have.
5 rooms(motel style): 3 rooms with 2 beds, 2 rooms with 1 Queen and a fold-out couch. These are $40.00 per night. No minimum stay.
5 trailers: Each trailer has 2 bedrooms. These are $65.00 per night. No minimum stay.
2 cabins: Each cabin has 2 beds. They are $65.00 per night. No minimum stay.
For you camper folks, there is a campground with pads across the street for $20.00 per night.
This sounds like a good place to stay for Fall Camp. This is a deal since you don't have to stay 3 night like the state park cabins.
Their number is 662- 526-5392. After Labor day, they will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week.

That's what I'm thinking. Two couples could stay in a cabin for $32.50 each and have a cooking area. 3 nights less that a $100.00.
I stayed there for the MCC tourney. The trailer was nice and lots of folks stayed in the cabins without complaint. The only problem is the ramp. If the wind is out of the south or east it can get bad. That is where my boat sunk while I went to park the truck.

I've made reservations at the state park cabins but they can be canceled. I found out that if you cancel they keep your down payment money and give you a voucher for it, good for one year.

ScottV, that sucks. I think that's where Deb and I are going to stay. $40.00 a night ain't bad.
I'm sure that I'd use the voucher within a year so it's no big deal. Have we decided where the cookout is gonna be?

We need to stay on the Dam end as we have in the past. It's easier to find for the folks that don't fish Sardis very often plus like Major said a South wind at Holiday can be a problem. You also have easier assess to modern hotels and ethenoyl free gas in Batesville. It's a 10+ mile drive to get to a ramp with any wind protection. Also you can only launch two at a time and the ramp is very steep so we would have to watch ES carefully.
i can find the dam doubt if i could find holiday tooooo old and hard headed
