The 177TR is a nod to Ranger's past. It has the lines of the old TR that was widely used in advertising in the 1970s.
What is does not have is the same bow. The keel, starting at the bow is a deep v shape and the boat runs on a pad, just the Z series. It won't be a wet ride due to the bow shape.
What the wide bow does do for it is give you the feel and storage of a boat that is about 1.5' longer than this one. You have to get up to the 20' range to get the same spaciousness on that front deck. Lots of storage under that huge casting deck.
But, its still a bass boat.

Taco is an idjit. However, he got lucky this time and was right about something. Design of the bow is going to be drier than a traditional V bow.....unless you stuff a wave, in which case a traditional V and this TR are going to be equally wet. More foot room and deck space. Storage looks to be good and improved with the bow shape as well. I like it.

If you are going to buy a bass boat get a Stratos or a Triton and be done with it.

I like that boat there. Would make an excellent starter. The wider front makes it much more roomy for racks and minner buckets. Ranger did their homework on this one. Did someone mention the price range?

Price is 24k with a 4 stroke 90 yamaha. Im looking hard for a new rig, plan on buying one mid June or July. Right now I like the Stratos 186xt and the G3 176. Just not sure I want to go with Aluminum after fishing out of dads glass rig the past couple months. However the G3 has tons of storage and I like that, and if I go with the Stratos Iwould have to drill holes and mount seats up front. Wonder if Ican hire WB for that since he likes to drill
