Patrick I've never put billbobs mechanical skills to the test but I have tested Rip's and I can tell you first hand that he can fix darn near anything.

If you have two of them open up one that works and see what you did wrong. That how I would fix it. It can't be that hard!!! A 8 year old Chinese put it together the first time.
