I think he's still standing in the garage with the hack saw in his hands, palms sweaty, and too scared to move.

I got the Terrova 80# , but it hasn't come in yet. Minnkota engineer said cutting is no big deal, but, yeah I'll prolly stand there with the saw for a long while before workin' up the courage to cut it! Gonna mount it first and see if I can live with the length. Bigger has the same boat as me, and after seeing his, which is 6" shorter, I'm prolly gonna be cuttin out 'bout a foot.

Mr. CN inserted a butter knife in the shaft on the side he was cutting to prevent him from cutting wires. He used a hacksaw and slowly worked his way around the entire shaft moving the knife as he went and it went off perfectly!.

Would a pipe cutter or tubing cutter work? If so you would not run the risk of nicking or cutting a wire. Would be a nice even cut too.

Not sure, I'm getting i-pilot/US2/80# Terrova - for $1209, Minn kota has a $100 rebate, which brings it to $1109.
