Default Very off topic...dump your credit card

Get ready guys, heads up for any one using a credit card. The 2 cards that I have , are doubling the rate for no apparent good reasons. I have chosen to close those cards down , thereby , freezing the rate, but I have to pay the credit cards off now and will now have to go on a CASH only budget.

I submitted my concerns to Obama and Mr. Wicker.....

I guess this move is good for me; but I have done a lot of purchases from Bass Pro using a credit card just to save on a drive to Memphis or Jackson.

I am afraid this action will hurt a lot online type of businesses.

    Just FYI....guys...:D:D:D

You can use your debit card instead of the credit card.

I use my credit cards every day but I pay them off every month.25% of zero is still zero.A lot of them give you cash back or discounts on gas and other purchases plus it's hard to buy anything online without a credit card.

I always pay it off anyway, but Cabela's Visa I read something to the effect
that nothing was changing (I thought)

I have already made it clear to them, anything other than the way it's been,
and they can have it back.

    Default Good advice

This is very sound advice. I managed to go to a cash budget 7 years ago and although it was painful life is much better now. No credit cards, no car payments, oh yeah and no boat payment including the one I just ordered. I am telling you it was awful the 3 years it took to get there but nothing like financial freedom.

Smile Interest Rates and Jimmy Carter

Ya, I remember the 12 and 15% interest rates. If this happen again in my humble opinion it will not last long. Small business is already having a hard time and if the interest rate goes too high, they will have to close their doors. I don't have a real good feeling about our country and its economy. We can't compete, so we have loss most of our manufacturing. We pay all our money to mideast countries for oil and the rest to ChinaWalmart.

Enough of this bad talk. Lets think about going fishing when the weather gets right or buying a new boat. These are positive thoughts. Its like someone on the site said before "Its hard to worry and fish at the same time".
    Amen to that!

Naw we can't compete - with the deck stacked agin us.

We got EPA, OSHA, everybody n their brother up our behinds, fineing,
taxing, regulating, while China and others do as they please.

China got none of this, they pollute as they please, sell us tainted/poison
goods without fear of being sued, no min wage, no worry if a worker gets
squashed/splattered/smeared, just go get another and hurry up with it

And if we do come up with a better mousetrap, you can bet there'll be a Chinese
knock-off of it soon. They don't respect patent or copyright laws either.
And you know who's really to blame? Our govt. Can't blame the Chinese for
taking advantage of the opportunity, we shouldn't have given it to them.
