I have to agree with Reaper and the ones who said the government would complain of the cost being too high. They claim that it cost more to sentence someone and put them to death than it does to keep them in prison for a lifetime. I dont buy that crap. They have enough scientific technology these days to prove by DNA and stuff that most of the killers are guilty or not. Speed up the dang process and get rid of them. However as far as the cost of people not getting help checks and this causing more crime due to them robbing banks. I see that as a real possibility, so by saying that i see a way we can create more jobs. Lets quit giving money to the lazy drug dealers and hire more police officers to patrol them. If we would enact some real punishment in this country, fewer people would commit these crimes and if they had no help check they would not have time to commit crimes if they were out searching for work. Just my 2 cents

I placed an ad on Craigs list for a job. The position requires a drug test, good driving record, ablity to read amap book. We scoop dog poop for a living, it's low tech but a good job if you like dogs and the outdoors.
One reply, and I'll clean it up a bit. "Drug test for picking up dog S..t no way!" That's the clean version and the guy wonders why he/she can't get a job.
They don't think about the fact they are driving my truck, wearing my logo shirt going into my clients yards.
Don't get me started on welfare...I believe in workfare. The WPA and some of those old programs after the depression were the way to go. You work you get money, you don't work you go hungry. Help those that can't help themselves.

Scooperdude - ok, that explains the handle
    Love it :D

About cheating the test - way back in pre-history when I was in the AF,
we had to tinkle in a cup in full view of an NCO of the appropriate gender...
Gotta be pretty slick I'd think to cheat on that, all though I'm sure somebody
could come up with a way. Made for some long, agonizing moments sometimes - Hey man, can you cut a faucet on or somethin', let me hear
    some water running? :D

Very few other than military and such make you pee full frontal. Most will stand behind you in the stall and look over your shoulder. Cathater bag taped to your leg with the straw out your fly works. Leg keeps it 98.6 or there abouts for the thermometer. There is a HUGE market for clean urine right now on the internet.

Never had to take a test personally but I know folks who routinely pass them for the DOT and for parole officers doing as described. Urine testing is a flawed method and open to all kinds of tampering. Blood test is a better way to go but way more expensive. Average drug test costs the employer $60-100 depending on how thorough they want to be. You can see how the costs would mount resulting in more government funding etc...

So what drugs do you all think should be tested for?...Alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, prescription or just ones like meth, cocaine and heroine? What do we do about food, diapers ect. for the innocent children of drug abusers on welfare? It's my understanding that when you do urine tests just about everything, with the exception of marijuana, won't show up if it's been much over 48hrs. since use. In quite a few states marijuana is now decriminalized or legal in small quantities....so what do we do? I completely understand everyone's frustration, I'm just not sure it would be as easy as invoking a drug test. I'm curious, does anyone know if we spend more tax payers money on welfare to drug abusers or the war on drugs?
