howdy; what i like is this; marinate ribs in wishbone italian overnight, shake a goodly amount of the tony chachere's original on both sides, slowcook, pour some more wish bone on 1/2 hr befor you take'm off the grill. tarfu
for store bought, i like the sweet baby ray's the best. it's sweet, but not too sweet. i use it on ribs. for barbeque, i like eastern style sauce with the vinegar flavor and just a touch of hot kick to it. any vinegar based yellow sauce works fine for me.Originally Posted by Glenn

Everybody ain't as fortunate as us North Carolina folks to have the Best BBQ pork in the world - such as the Eastern NC vinegar based sauce and we also have the sweet tomato based Lexington Style BBQ - the debate of which is best is a tough one because I love em both - of course for my ribs and chicken - and you Texans ( my wife is from San Antonio ) who like beef brisket - I use "Dawg Gone Good BBQ Sauce" - it is not on the shelf yet in your favorite store but it is used by a local restaurant on their BBQ dishes - I can get it because I make it - when any of my family or friends has a birthday they always want sauce for their present - I have many people request it for holidays, cookouts, and parties - I hope soon to start marketing this product - I have had several stores request me to make it for sale but I am too busy to make large quantities yet - I got to fish some too you know - but this secret recipe can be used as a dipping sauce or you can put it on when you have about 5 minutes of cooking left - you cannot marinade or baste with it because of the sugar content will burn your meat up - I baste ribs, chicken, and brisket in a traditional eastern NC style sauce - apple cider vinegar, butter, crushed red pepper, wostershire, texas pete hotsauce( another local favorite made in NC), and black pepper, and like I said earlier when it is about done I coat it good with "Dawg Gone Good BBQ Sauce" and let it cook for about 5 more minutes and have plenty of sauce for dipping - I have had some great BBQ all over the US - in my opinion you just can't get much better than North Carolina BBQOriginally Posted by panfishfan

I lived in San Antonio for 7 years--back when George Karl was a Spur. Had a relative that owned a meat locker show me how to do the briskets. If you ever come this way bring a bottle of that sauce and I'll smoke a brisket Gotta love that Lexinton Barbeque. I need to get ahold of Hawkman.....Originally Posted by crap-king

Ozark Bar-b-que sauce. I usually get a gallon to take home to Ohio when I am there, I am out right now. I really like it on Turkey tenderloins from the IL and IA HyVees!
i've got to agree with Crap-King Carolina BBQ is hard to bet. I like the Rocky Mount style but you can't get it here in the Atlanta area so I mix my own just like you described. For ribs I soak them in white vinegar and lemon juice over night and baste them with honey while cooking and brush on sweet baby rays to suit. Man I'm hungry now!
My favorite BBQ sauce of all time is found
at a local BBQ chain here in Knoxville. Its
Buddy's BBQ Sauce...available in hot or mild
at their locations. If you ever drive thru Knoxville,
try to find one..maybe the closest to I-40 is
around exit 380 ? at Gallaher Road exit. The
pulled pork there is EXCELLENT...and, no..I
don't own any stock..just love the BBQ !

Granted I have had a few that I was not crazy about but, in general it's all good So here goes.
Beef Ribs= Tony Roma's Blue Ridge Smokies
Pork Ribs= Charlie Vergos Rendezvous and Texas Rib Ranger's Spicey
Pulled Pork= Woody's Hot and Corky's
Pork Chops= Big Bob Gibson Red sauce and Sweet Baby Rays
Pork Steak= Blues Hog
Chicken Breast= Head Country
Chicken Quarters= Maulls Sweet N Smokey
Chicken Legs= Billy Bones and Cattleman's Golden Honey
I try a new sauce about once a month so I'm sure this list could change :D
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
