I knew I was doing something wrong all these years...damn was it hard to get the ball lined up with the trailer when bringing the boat in! hahaha
the guy who couldn't figure out why his boat wouldn't plane out, only to find out he had his trailer attached to the boat? I think that story was probably concocted, but I may have met his brother. Wife and I took grand daughter fishing at a local lake Sunday evening and when we got to the launch site which is not an improved site, there were three ole boys trying to load their boat. I knew something was up when we pulled up and one guy was "swimming" his boat out in the water??? Not sure why that was, but soon realized they were at least unfamiliar with boating. We waited to launch for about 10 minutes and then I decided to go see what was the issue. I had a clue when I heard them spinning their truck tires and digging trenches. They had an old classic fiberglass boat that was too heavy to pull out under the conditions at the unimproved launch. I suggested they try the other DNR site on the lake that had a concrete approach. With that, the one guy started uncoupling his trailer from the truck...with the boat still on it! The launch is like a 30 degree incline. I hollered for him to stop 'cause I could see what was going to happen, and just then the tongue of the trailer shot up, and if not for the safety chains, would have knocked his head off. I think he was going to drive the boat to the launch WITH HIS TRAILER ATTACHED!!!
His comment was..." We just bought this boat, and aren't very good at this yet..." my comment was your lucky the chains held or you wouldn't be very good at anything but dying.
Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
