Default Warning to parents- Singulair and Zyrtec

It was no surprize to me when I heard the news today that the FDA is looking into a possible link of the drug, Singulair, in teen suicides. Singulair, made by Merck may be directly responsible for suicides and severe emotional issues in children and teens. Normally used to treat asthma and allergies, it's side effects have been horrible.

As for my not being surprised I have had my own problems at home with a similar drug called Zyrtec. Today I had to return to my son's Dr with a Jeckle and Hyde horror story and mystery pains in my 2 year old, that result in extreme fits of screaming and uncontrolled behavior, possibly due to pain. This after my wife's research into the drug zyrtec used to treat allergies. My son had behaved so insanely we were fearing for his well being this week. After completing a heavy script of Zyvox after surgery, he was back on Zyrtec and in 24 hours he was a home wrecking maniac. We found out we aren't alone, other parents are now reporting the frightening side effects in their children and taking them off Zyrtec.

Sadly pediatricians are just now discovering this evil child side effect and haven't come up with firm resolution except to take them off the med. We took Steven off the Zyrtec 2 days ago and hes his old self again, content and quiet. He still struggles with random pain, but otherwise is ok (this is tough when your only 2).

Beware- doctors have been handing out Zyrtec like candy in recent years. It's done so well that it's now over the counter, unleashing an unforeseen hell in the home.
