    my great uncle has a couple orvis setups he uses with the flies he ties

    and he also has a couple on display in his living room and they are the bamboo ones you speak of they are beautiful setups but i would never use them because they are his maybe one day ill end up with them but dont want to on those circumstances

    i would show people but would always have to keep he has tought me everything i know about tying flies and fly fishing in these mountains here for native browns brooks and rainbow

    That "bamboo" is most likely split cane and probably worth a small fortune, hold on to them. I had once aspired to build split cane rods back in the day, but rod building is on hold for while.
