    Default Gotta love security cams!!!!

Left the house last Sunday afternoon and noticed my neighbor across the street had a brick column scattered about his yard. Wondering what had happened, when I returned home I went through my security camera footage. No. I don't live in a high crime area in case one might wonder. I installed these and upgraded the alarm system on the house several years ago while I was still working. The last 9 years of my career I worked all around the world and would be gone from 4 to 12 weeks at a time. Bought the wife a couple new revolvers and stored them strategically around the house for her piece of mind and mine while I was gone.

Anyway. Got some interesting footage of a drunk driver taking a "Sunday drive". Miraculously, this guy was wearing his seatbelt and walked away, or should I say to the back seat of the squad car in handcuffs, without a scratch. Another miracle was, literally less that one minute prior to this there were about 7 or 8 cars that went by in the opposite direction. Had any one of them been slightly delayed it would have been a head-on collision. The guy ran off the road, overcompensated and was in the on coming lane, then over compensated again causing the result you see in the upper left corner of the photo.

Those cameras are nice to be able to see what goes on.

Amazing, and by the Grace of God no innocent person was injured. That was a heck of a crash! The police and judge will love that footage!

I'm pretty sure they had to call out the HAZMAT team to clean up the "raw sewage" in and around the vehicle.

Not sure what the draw is, but this is the 4th DUI incident that has happened in this spot in the 21 years since we built the house. It's not really a bad (dangerous) stretch of road, unless you're driving excessively fast and/or intoxicated or high. There are 3 curves in sequence. This particular part of the stretch is the only straightaway that's about 1/8 of a mile long. Just enough to get up a good head of steam before the next curve which is just out of the left of the photos. Speed limit is 45 mph. Even at 55 mph it's easily navigable under dry and wet conditions on 4 wheels. Can't tell you how many crotch-rockets I hear screaming by week in and week out. Just waiting to have to scrape one of them off the asphalt or one of the power poles at any time. There's always the possibility of loose gravel or sand on the road. This is the second single vehicle wreck. The other two were head-on collisions where the drunk driver crossed the center line. First one resulted in the death of two innocent individuals. Watched the guy die before my eyes. Girl died three days later at the hospital. Drunk driver (female) walked away without a scratch and served a 15 year sentence in prison. She served the full term and was released about two years ago. Second head-on collision, the drunk driver died two days after the wreck. The two innocent folks suffered pretty nasty injuries but both survived. First single car incident the drunk driver was killed in the crash.

Had one of those in front of my house 3 cars 2 fatalities. Pretty rough thing to be part of when they are teenagers.
