Mix it with wood-glue and you've got a great filler - I use that method instead of commercial wood putty or filler.

I have full woodshop in the a 12x16 building. About 80% of the furniture in my house was built by me. I seldom build anything now days because the house is full. I still enjoy spending time in the shop.
