Default Zig Ziglar quote of the day....

Life is an echo. What you send out comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you.

    Zig Ziglar

I just thought I’d share. I went and seen Zig speak once and he was absolutely great. I brought him up on another thread but I thought he deserved a thread of his own. Look him up and add a quote of his you like. Just a little motivational exercise while we wait for the spring bite! Fish on!

My nephew was a big fan of Zig.....I know he went to a lot of his talks. I read his first book “See You at the Top” back in 1981 when I first went to Saudi.

    Regards

Wow! I haven't heard that name in a long time. Read a couple of his books back in the early 80's.

Zig has a bunch of really great quotes. I found these while looking and have heard many but didn't know he said them. Hope you enjoy the list.

"Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days."

"Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and poor people have small libraries and big TVs."

"You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great."

"People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily."

"When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal; you do not change your decision to get there."

"Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart."

"The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now."

"If you go out looking for friends, you’re going to find they are very scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere."

"Many marriages would be better if the husband and wife clearly understood that they’re on the same side."

"You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win."

"A lot of people have gone further than they thought they could because someone else thought they could."

"If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time."

"You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life."

"Some people find fault like there is a reward for it."

    "Attitude, not aptitude, determines altitude."

"The greatest of all mistakes is to do nothing because you think you can only do a little."

"Make failure your teacher, not your undertaker."

"The more you are grateful for what you have the more you will have to be grateful for."

"Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us do them beautifully."

"Outstanding people have one thing in common: an absolute sense of mission."

"Some of us learn from other people’s mistakes and the rest of us have to be other people."

"FEAR has two meanings: ‘Forget Everything And Run’ or ‘Face Everything And Rise.’ The choice is yours."

"Motivation gets you going and habit gets you there."

"Go as far as you can see and you will see further."

"When you are tough on yourself, life is going to be infinitely easier on you.

I attended one of his seminars in the mid-eighties, him, his brother Judge and two others were on the program. One of a few times I was glad we had front row seats. Good man, still remember him saying he was from “Yazoo City, Mississippi “.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

"Some of us learn from other people's mistakes and the rest of us have to be other people". For some reason that one really jumped out and grabbed me. Thanks for sharing those.

Saw him at our meeting in 1992. Awesome. He carried instant grits in his suit pocket so when he was up north in airport restaurants he just ordered a bowl of hot water and made his own. he said, "don't believe me?"
Reached in his suit pocket pulled out a pouch and tore it open on stage and grits danced all over the floor.
He could bring the house down anytime he wanted.
He was master of the hook, if you know what I mean.

I love Zig! You are what you are and you are where you are because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are and you can change where you are by changing what goes into your mind.”
Just an FYI: If any of you like podcast, they have a good one called, “the Ziglar show podcast”. Pretty good one to listen to!
