RFID wallets / purses

Do they work? We're going on vacation, to a heavily populated area (ugh), we've been advised to get them.
Currently my "wallet" is an x-band, I'm really not looking forward to an actual wallet again.
Your thoughts / experiences and recommendations please.

I just got some the other day from Amazon but have no idea of they work or not. Seems to me that making a holder out of tin foil would serve the purpose.

I was wondering that myself, about wrapping foil around them. I'd look like Clark Griswold when paying for something!

Without the metal protection one scan and they can wipe ya out !

I carry a wallet and a metal credit card holder. I bought a cheap one first and when I got used to carrying my CCs in my front pocket I got a better one. I like having my CCs up front where if anyone does try to get to them they have to do so in front of my face where I can see them. I don't live in a densely populated area, but do go to Nashville quite a bit to visit my cardiology clinic. I think it is cheap insurance.

Its ridiculous that we have to spend more money to keep people from stealing the things we already have. Seems like if there was harsh enough punishment for a thief we would
N’t have to do that. Used to hang a horse thief....Just sayin!
