Just turned 70. Been fishing for 65 years. Just bought a step to mount on the trailer tongue to help me get in and out. I'm slowing down but like " The Possum"
said; " I dont need no Rocking Chair" yet. Good fishing everbody. Dont ever give up.
The message is so true Ship. I live it every day. Thanks for the reality check

38 this way and feel 25! I look 22! But boy do my bones crack when I stand up. It's rough. My dad is 65 and still works out and is healthy as an OX. Some people just got it like that. My neighbor is 71 and still hits the weights at the gym. My fishing partner is 45 and out does me all the time hiking hills. LOL. Guess I need to work out.
But take care of yourselves out there! Handling a boat loading and unloading can be a challenge as you get up there in age. Be safe and God bless.

Thanks Skip! Great read! I'll be 73 in a few days and she is spot on. I live in the same house I bought back in 1972. Paid $19K for it back then - on a 30 yr. mortgage of course. This house was built in 1902 and was the second one built on my street. A real "handy man's special"! Gutted it myself from top to bottom. Installed all the insulation, sheet rock, ceilings, electricity and furnace duct work myself (second floor didn't even have heat).
You know something......I don't remember doing it! LOL! I know I did it, but I can't recall all the hard work that went into actually doing it. Maybe it's because I was busy working 2 jobs, six or 7 days a week, raising 4 kids, gardening to supply my wife with the makings for the supper each day. And, I still had time to hunt & fish! What I wouldn't give to be 40 again!

Outstanding Thread Mike
This is one to Reminisce by, as time doesn’t slow down but the body does.
A survivor from polio from the age of two was a struggle for me reaching my adult hood. Hurtles in life that we all encounter in different ways, try to overcome and carry on.
The Love For Fishing and The Outdoors came from my Father, the era meant food on the table.
Times change and we learn to appreciate the Outdoors, be it Fishing, Hunting, Hiking. etc., and of course making soft bait,
Now it’s time to share this wonderful Gift we’ve been enjoying with our offspring, or be it Sons, Daughters, Grandchildren, Friends, etc. to keep it everlasting.
Seems different, now going on 74young having PPS (post polio syndrome) relying on crutches to get around, I’ve enjoyed having reached my age with independent challenges
I feel my limited disability have made my kids stronger in life who are helping others that are less fortunate to get around.
Guess it boils down to, with age make the best of ones short life even though the body slows down.

The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.
Thanks Again
