Default Christmas spirit? I think not.

I let a bunch of folks talk me into getting items ready for Christmas, ahead of their normally scheduled order. I looked at my watch and it was after 2PM. I had to run a check by the insurance office (seems like a weekly deal). On my way back to my shop, I remembered a text my wife had sent about a special deal at Sonic.

I had to wait a couple of minutes to place my small order. As I pulled forward, I hit a line of parked vehicles in the drive-thru line. I never have to wait over a few minutes so I returned some Christmas Greetings text messages and such as I waited. Nothing was moving. In a few minutes, employees of the Sonic started bringing food and drinks out to cars in line. When they brought mine out, I had exact change ready, and asked the employee what was going on. He said the truck at the window had an issue with their order and demanded something be re-done. They also refused to move from the window until their order was done to their satisfaction. Rather than pull forward one truck length or pull into a parking spot 10 feet away, they decided to essentially block the line until they got their demands met.

It made me think of how this is happening so much today in our society and world. If I'm not happy, nobody will be happy. I dread my grandkids having to live in the world we have allowed to happen around us.

I agree. People are so selfish nowadays. Had a guy cut me off on I 10 couple days ago. Caused me to slam on brakes, on an interstate full of traffic. He gets off the exit in front of me. Going to fast for the backed up traffic. He slams his brakes and hits the curb. Then starts going down the curb until he can't. By then I have caught him and without looking he pulls nearly into me again. Just missed me, because I got his attention with the horn. Something I rarely do. Then rolls down his window and starts yelling at me. I am glad I just told him to go on. Closest I've come to violence in my adult life. He could have ruined my Christmas for sure. All about the selfishness. I do agree we all let it get this way. What a shame.

A friend of my Brother in law was just like the person you describe. I have a name for him I can't print here. He's now attends church and has a reputation in the congregation of being difficult still. Some people just enjoy being a jerk.

Wait a minute!!! Why is this guy a jerk???? He placed an order and paid for it and was then told to move out of line so they could serve someone else. "I think not"!!!!!! All they had to do was fill his order and no problem. If they had a problem filling his order they should have said something before he paid for his order which would give them the opportunity to go someplace else. Was everyone else's time more valuable than this persons??
This isn't any different than people complaining on here that they didn't get what they had paid for. Just my

EB, I'll bet food service folks love to see you come in or drive up.

I have been asked to pull forward at McDonalds or other fast food places while they finished up my order countless times. Was I happy about it? Sometimes not but most times it really didn't inconvenience me over a couple of minutes. Why should anybody think so much of themselves that they thought nothing about inconveniencing everyone else?

This Sonic has great food, great service and very friendly staff. I'm positive that every food place has mistakes made occasionally but why make a federal case out of it? Pull up a few feet and let them go about their serving others.

No, Beave .... the problem was that the person was in a "DRIVE THRU" lane, and refused to let anyone else get to the window until THEIR order was corrected. Narcissism at it's finest

I've had to "pull up" or into a parking spot at several fast food restaurants, in order to wait for my order to be fulfilled ... allowing those behind me to get their orders taken care of, in the meantime. Never once crossed my mind to "camp out" at the pay window as a form of revenge for an incorrect or incomplete order.

They could have just as easily asked for a refund & returned the food, but noooooo .... they had to play the victim card & go all "Drama Queen" on the Sonic staff & those waiting on their orders behind them in line. In that respect, I would also consider them "jerks"

Oh great, an opportunity for me to vent about my pet peeve!
How about those high school aged kids with the i.q. that starts with a decimal point that put glass packs on their underrated trucks and disturb the entire neighborhood.
Or those people that just stop their carts in the middle of the aisle at Walmart.
Somehow people think that they are the only ones in the entire world!
I guess that's why I hate people so much.

It's called customer service not customer bend over!!!! This person took his complaint to where it should be handled. You brought your complaint here!!!! Who do you think got what they paid for???? This is like the person that stopped and let someone cut in line and then complained when the person didn't thank them!
If you do something charitable for someone expecting a thank you or something in return than that isn't a charitable act!!!! EB
