Wow
A quick Google search turned up lots of articles like this. It will be interesting to watch this play out.
Actually sad to hear! I only get to Cabela's once a year and the fly tying area there (although I buy stuff to tie jigs and flies) is actually really nice!! I prefer them over BPS.
I don't like BPS prices and their fly tying area sucks!! I went one time to the BPS store in Auburn NY (Finger Lakes Region) and the only thing I bought was a new Lady's 33 spincast outfit for my grand daughter and only because I got a gift card 3 years before for a christmas present. Their store didn't impress me
Don't have either one in Vermont! there's a Gander Mountain across the lake in NY and it wasn't all that great.
Would hate to see it. I've always had outstanding customer service at cabelas.
Hasn't happened yet! One person and his family own quite a chunk of stock and if he can get others to join him he can get controlling interest in the Company, than he can force a sale. He is like the guy that bought a drug and raised the price from $13.50 a pill to $750.00 a pill. Cabela's just built a new store I believe it is in MN but won't open it for now. If the deal with BPS goes though they will be closing several of Cabela's stores but not all of them. I had several Cabela's gift cards so I went out yesterday and used most of them up. EB
DO-GOODER EXTRADINAR :p
Guess this is the wave of the future for big businesses. On the main corner in our town, Walgreen's and Rite Aid have relatively new stores across from each other. Now Walgreen's has bought Rite Aid so I expect the Rite Aid will close in the next year. Just hate to see it turn into an empty building because it is such a high visible location and a really nicely developed area.
